Project Description

Location: Yerevan, RA

Overall objective: To promote the Rights of children with behavioral and social problems by reducing the number of children attending the Special educational complex

Specific objectives:

  • To contribute to the improvement of current situation of children with behavioral and social problems by working out and putting in place the transformation plan of the “The Special Educational Complex” into the “Resource Center”
  • To foster the integration of children at risk in their native societies and public schools by working out the methodology of preventive actions and the tailor-made assistance

The Activities of the project:

  • Already elaborated manual ″What the teachers need to know about the unwanted behavior″ to submit for the approval of the RA Government for using as a training manual for the teachers of the public schools
  • Simultaneously to conduct a survey concerning the children with behavioral and social problems (region of origin, the schools they attend for the academic year 2016-2018, their age, sex, story, family causes)
  • Also to conduct a survey on the number of children who returned back to school from the Special Educational Complex for the academic year 2016-2018
  • To divide the approved manual into training modules by inviting the specialist who has elaborated the manual
  • To organize trainings for the responsible persons of the educational department from the schools which are concerned with the anti-social behavior of children by involving psychologist and the social worker
  • To develop new charter and financial procedure for the Resource Center by involving a lawyer and a financial specialist
  • To organize public discussions on the developed new charter
  • To submit the elaborated charter for the approval of the RA Government

As a result of the project

  • The Resource Center will have an exemplary new charter and financial procedure
  • The accurate data on the number of children who returned back to school from the Special Educational Complex during the academic year 2016-2018 will be achieved within the project
  • Responsibles of the educational department will be more ready to respond to the problems of  anti-social behavior of  children
  • The Resource Center will have a professional psychologist and a social worker
